Welcome, fellow Disney foodies! Today, we begin on a culinary adventure through time and flavor as we explore the delightful experience of dining at Liberty Tree Tavern in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Location

Liberty Tree Tavern is in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom. It is located close to Frontierland and Adventureland. You will need a park ticket to visit this restaurant so plan on dining here for lunch or dinner during your visit to Magic Kingdom.

If you need a restaurant on Disney property that doesn’t require a park ticket, I recommend Cape May Café or Chef Mickey’s.

Atmosphere

The atmosphere as you step through the doors of Liberty Tree Tavern is a vehicle to transport you through time.

When you arrive, you’re immediately immersed in the colonial charm of 18th-century America. The rustic decor, complete with wooden beams and period-appropriate furnishings, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. It’s like stepping into a time machine, where every detail is meticulously crafted to transport you back to the days when our nation was still in its infancy.

Liberty Tree Tavern Ben Franklin

We visited here during dinner and were seated in the Benjamin Franklin room. There were old pictures hung on the walls along with other rustic décor items that really created an immersive experience. The cast members are even dressed in colonial outfits!

Menu

Now, let’s talk about the star of the show – the food! Liberty Tree Tavern prides itself on serving up an authentic, all-American feast. The menu pays homage to traditional colonial fare, featuring hearty dishes that remind me of sitting around a Thanksgiving table.

Liberty Tree Tavern Menu

I have both a gluten and dairy allergy, so I was given a separate menu. Many of the offerings could be modified to fit my needs and still preserve the theme of the restaurant. Per usual, I was given the option to speak with Chef if I wasn’t comfortable utilizing the allergy guided menu.

Family-Style

One of the unique aspects of dining at Liberty Tree Tavern is the family-style dining experience. It provides the opportunity to gather around the table with your loved ones as the servers bring out platter after platter of delicious dishes. This communal style of dining fosters a sense of togetherness. It is also the perfect spot for your family and friends to bond over a shared love for good food and great company.

With my allergy concerns, I was brought a separate platter of food to avoid any cross contamination. These dishes are always accompanied by an “allergy stick” that helps to differentiate the plates that are safe to eat.

Menu Highlights

Firstly, You start with the Declaration Salad, featuring mixed greens, house-made dressing, and candied pecans. This salad is accompanied with their house rolls.

Next, you can dive into the main course. The main entrée is a tasteful journey comprised of roast turkey, pot roast, oven-roasted pork, savory stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and mac n cheese. It is a true crowd-pleaser!

However, you must save room for dessert because no meal is complete without a sweet ending! Liberty Tree Tavern doesn’t disappoint when it comes to dessert. Indulge in the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake or the Johnny Appleseed’s Warm Apple Cake – both delightful treats that will leave your taste buds singing. The desserts are the perfect conclusion to your historical culinary journey.

However, even with my allergies, I was able to enjoy almost all the menu items (Mac n Cheese was the only option not available). I had stuffing for the first time in what feels like forever. They use the same rolls that are brought out as an appetizer as the stuffing base, so it turned out amazing!

For dessert, I recommend the Johnny Appleseed’s Warm Apple Cake. It was topped with a coconut whipped topping and is one of my new favorite desserts at the parks!

Service

I must leave a special shout-out here for the service that we had at Liberty Tree Tavern. This was some of the best service that we have experienced dining at the Disney parks. Our waitress was outstanding and very attentive throughout the meal. I felt very informed about my allergy requirements and what was safe for me to enjoy. We also received HUGE portions of food and left feeling stuffed!

Additionally, before we finished signing our check, she brought out some to-go bags of allergy-friendly chocolate chip cookies for us to take home. This was incredibly thoughtful and definitely left us wanting to return.
