Atmosphere

Cape May Café is located within the Beach Club Resort at Disney World. The Beach Club Resort is a New England beach themed hotel located on the boardwalk. This hotel Cape May Cafêhas great walking access to Epcot which makes for an easy trip to the park for after dinner fireworks.

We accessed this restaurant by parking at the Beach Club hotel. You can also get there by waling from Epcot, utilizing the Skyliner or taking bus transportation.

When you first enter the Beach Club Resort through the front entrance, you are greeted by great beach theming and décor. Cape May Café is located to the right of the lobby entrance. We were greeted by welcoming cast members and taken to our table very quickly. It is recommended to reserve seating, however, on the night we dined there were plenty of openings for walk up tables.

The buffet is in the center of the restaurant with seating all around the sides. There are various options for booths or tables depending on the accessibility needs and preferences of your party. While the breakfast buffet includes character dining, the dinner buffet does not. This resulted in a much quieter evening and was a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of the parks.

Food

Cape May Café is a New England inspired restaurant with food options that point to this rich culture. The dinner menu is centered around surf and turf items such as peel-n-eat shrimp, fried calamari, fried shrimp, clam strips, steamed mussels, steamed clams, beef strip loin, lemon pepper chicken and barbecued pork ribs.Allergy Guide

Interested in elevating your experience? You can add crab legs to your meal for an additional fee.

In addition to the main entrées, there are plenty of sides, breads, salads, and kids favorites to make it an enjoyable experience for everyone in the family.

Allergies

I have both a gluten and dairy allergy, so eating out at a buffet can be specifically challenging. When we checked in for our table, the hostess confirmed my dietary allergies and left a note on our ticket so our server would be aware.

I had the option of utilizing the allergy buffet guide or speaking with a chef. After many dining experiences at Disney restaurants, I feel confident that the guides will work for my specific needs. However, you always have the option to speak with a chef and order directly from the kitchen.

Allergies

I have also found that if you speak with a chef, you might be able to order an item that is not listed on the allergen guide, but that they can make specifically for you. This has happened at multiple restaurants, including 50s Prime Time Café. You can check out my review of this experience here.

I did order a basket of allergy friendly rolls as well as the allergy friendly barbecue ribs from the kitchen and our server brought them both out very quickly.

Dinner Review

Dinner BuffetI always like to begin with some selection from the salad bar. Cape May Café did a great job of keeping their salad looking and tasting fresh. While I only sampled their Seasonal House Salad, they did have other options such as the Chipotle Ranch Green Salad that looked delicious.

Some highlights from the dinner buffet options were the seafood paella, roasted chicken, barbecue ribs and the sustainable fish of the day which was a glazed salmon. All were delicious and the food quality was very good!

Options for that were a little more kid friendly included pizza, macaroni and cheese, baked chicken legs and broccoli.

Dessert Review

The options for dessert were plentiful and stuck to the true buffet fashion of “bite sized” to allow you to sample multiple options. There was even a gluten and dairy free option on tBuffethe buffet line – plant-based cookie dough. These cookie dough bites were very rich but quite delicious!

Our server also asked if I would like to order a dessert from the kitchen. They were offering allergy-friendly cookies and while those are one of my favorite desserts, I had to pass as I was already so full!

Overall Experience

We had a great time at Cape May Café, enjoying their dinner buffet. The price per person when we dined was very reasonable at $47 per adult. When considering the quality of food and the amount available, this is a restaurant that we would definitely dine in again.

They also have some great options for breakfast. Their breakfast menu includes character dining where you have the opportunity to join Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast.

We ended the night by walking from the Beach Club to Epcot through the back entrance connected to the board walk. We arrived just in time for the fireworks show and it was the perfect ending to our evening.
