Rosie’s All American Cafe Gluten Free Review
Looking for the best quick-service option in Disney’s Hollywood Studios? Rosie’s All American Cafe is one of my all time favorites. This is my Rosie’s All American Cafe Gluten Free Review.
Rosie’s All American Cafe Gluten Free Review
Rosie’s All American Cafe has always been one my go-to quick service options when visiting Hollywood Studios. Since I have to order with multiple food allergies (gluten and dairy), I often find myself returning to same quick service restaurant multiple times. This is especially true whenever I have a good experience.
Disney dining is great about accommodating food allergies, and Rosie’s All American Cafe is no different.
On my most recent trip to Hollywood Studios, I was park-hopping from Epcot and planned on ordering a late lunch. If you are like me, and in a hurry to get in line for Tower of Terror or Rock’n Rollercoaster, ordering on the mobile app is the most convenient.
Mobile Ordering
When we parked in the Hollywood Studios parking lot, I pulled up the app to check out the menu during our walk in to the park. There are many different gluten free options and an entire section of the menu is dedicated to being allergy friendly. However, if you are dairy free, the options are mostly limited to the chicken strips.
When ordering with multiple allergies, I have not found a way to indicate both allergies on the mobile ordering system. However, you are always welcome to speak with a special trained cast member to ensure that all of your needs are met.
The first time that I ordered here, I spoke with a special cast member to ensure that my food was both dairy and gluten free. Since then, I have been informed that it is the same “allergy-friendly” item that they serve for all allergens marked on the menu.
Location
Rosie’s All American Cafe is located on Sunset Blvd across from the the Beauty and the Beast show. It is a great location if you’re looking to ride Tower of Terror or Rock’n Rollercoaster since they are located at the end of the Boulevard. You can even hear some screams from the Tower of Terror!
The restaurant is in an outdoor food-court type setting. The seating is all picnic tables and is shared with multiple other dining locations including Catalina Eddie’s, Fairfax Fare, Anaheim Produce and a few other snack stands. While it does not provide an escape from the heat, the seating area is mostly covered. This is great if you need to stay dry from any afternoon showers. There are multiple fans and plenty of shade in the seating area. This definitely helped to provide a bit of reprieve from the Florida sun.
The theme of Rosie’s All American Cafe is everything Red, White and Blue. It is set in a World War II theme with “Rosie” referencing Rosie the Riveter and the great effort that was given by everyone for victory.
Gluten Free
When we arrived at the restaurant, I tapped the “I am here” option on my mobile order. I have noticed that allergy friendly options take a bit longer than normal menu items to be prepared. This order only took about 15 minutes.
When we received a notification that it was time to pick up our food, they directed us to a special window for allergy free items. My meal was placed on a separate tray from the rest of the order and of course included an “allergy stick” to indicate which one was mine. I always appreciate this. It really helps to ease my mind that the allergy wasn’t “forgotten” by anyone in the kitchen.
I ordered the allergy-friendly chicken strips that were served with french fries. Before heading back to the table we stopped at the condiment section. This is a self-serve bar in the middle of the seating area. Ensuring that condiments are allergy-free is a little more tricky and I would definitely recommend talking to someone in person. I’m sure that I could have asked for separate condiments when picking up my meal, however, I opted for just ketchup.
The meal itself was pretty good. The allergy-friendly chicken strips seemed to be the same brand that is used throughout the Disney Parks. The french fries were also very good. I definitely got enough food that I could have shared. The service was relatively quick and we didn’t have any issues finding a seat. However, we did wait to eat until about 2:30pm which is definitely an off-peak time.
Tips
If you plan on eating at a popular time, you can schedule your mobile order ahead of time on the Disney app.
If you have multiple food allergies or are still nervous about mobile ordering, you can always ask to speak with a cast member.
Come hungry or plan to share!
